Good PR:
Today’s good PR is a rare opportunity, so I have to give it. Well done to the NHS! The NHS has released a report proving that the UK wide smoking ban works.
According to the report issued in the British Medical Journal, at least 1,200 heart attacks were prevented in England in the year after the ban's introduction.
On a personal note, I think this is brilliant. It is so nice to come home from a night out and not smell of cigarette smoke and I can confirm that my friends definitely smoke less on a night out now compared to what they used to. After three I would like a round of applause for the NHS. 1...2...3
Bad PR
Poor old Northern Rock, the bank just can’t seem to catch a break! A decision by Northern Rock’s management is going to leave 1 in 7 workers out of work. Not only are they making 650 job cuts, but they are also planning on altering the pensions for the remaining staff. All in all it is bad news for everyone.
I feel for the 650 people who will be out of work, I hope even more that we have a hot summer; at least they could get a sun tan.
