Emma's choicy picks of today's Good and Bad PR...
Good PR
Alton Towers you geniuses, you. In light of tonight’s impending England match, the big bosses at the theme park have decided to show off their humorous sides and let everyone named ‘Robert Green’ into the attraction for free.
The move follows Green’s infamous butterfingers in last week’s match, with Alton Towers believing that anyone who shares their name with the goalie have probably had a bit of a rough ride from friends and family of late. The bosses therefore decided that the first 100 people who could prove their name is Robert Green, be it with a passport or a driving license, will have access to the theme park today completely free of charge.
Robert Greens of the world unite! Sure, you may have been the butt of all jokes this week, but who’s laughing now hmmmm, who’s laughing now...
Bad PR
Sacre bleu and all things merde. Our neighbours from across the channel are apparently ‘on the brink’ having faced defeat against Mexico in the World Cup last night.
The loss means that France are not guaranteed to make the final 16, even if they win their next Group A game against tournament hosts South Africa. Those lucky Mexicans, however, only need to muster a draw in their next match to get through.
Now, even though I do not want the French to win, this is not a good PR day for them. Oh how the mighty have fallen since 1998.
